The Branding module allows administrators to customize the visual identity and messaging displayed throughout the POS application. Configure logos, organization name, and welcome text to create a cohesive brand experience across the Register and RMS user interfaces, as well as on printed reports and receipts.
Purpose of Branding¶
Branding is used to:
- Establish organizational identity through custom logos and company name
- Create a consistent visual experience across all POS touchpoints
- Customize welcome and login screen messaging
- Maintain brand consistency on printed reports and receipts
- Replace default Kensium Point-of-Sale branding with organization-specific branding
Configuring Branding¶
To configure branding settings:
- Navigate to
System → Branding. - Enter or update the branding information in the available fields.
- Click Save to apply the changes, or Cancel to discard them.
Available Fields¶
| Field | Description | Field Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Organization Name | The name of your organization displayed throughout the application. | Optional. If left blank, the default "Kensium Point-of-Sale" name is used. Displayed on login screens, welcome screens, and throughout the RMS and Register interfaces. |
| Main Logo URL | The URL path to your organization's logo image displayed on Register and RMS screens. | Optional. If left blank, the default Kensium Point-of-Sale logo is used. Should point to an image file accessible to the application (for example, PNG or JPG format). |
| Report Logo URL | The URL path to your organization's logo displayed on printed output such as receipts, quotes, invoices, and other report-style documents. | Optional. If left blank, the default Kensium Point-of-Sale logo is used. Can be different from the Main Logo URL to accommodate different aspect ratios or print requirements. |
| Custom Welcome Text | Custom message displayed on welcome and login screens. | Optional. If left blank, the default welcome text is used. Supports multi-line text for detailed messaging or instructions. |
Logo URL Guidelines¶
When configuring logo URLs, ensure the following:
- Absolute URLs: Use complete URLs (for example,
https://example.com/assets/logo.png) or relative paths accessible from the application root - Supported Formats: Use standard image formats such as PNG, JPG, or SVG
- Logo Dimensions:
- Main Logo: Recommended dimensions are 200×200 pixels for optimal display on screens
- Report Logo: Dimensions can vary based on print requirements; test before deploying
- File Accessibility: Ensure the image files are accessible and do not require authentication to retrieve
- File Size: Use optimized images to minimize load times and bandwidth usage
Display Locations¶
The configured branding elements appear in the following locations:
Organization Name¶
- Login screens
- Welcome screens
- RMS application header
- Register application header
- System configuration pages
Main Logo¶
- Login screens (top or side placement)
- Welcome screens
- RMS dashboard or header
- Register application header
- Throughout the UI where branding is relevant
Report Logo¶
- Printed receipts (header or footer)
- Printed quotes and invoices
- Printed reports
- Any exported or printed documents
Custom Welcome Text¶
- Login screen (below or alongside login fields)
- Welcome screen (primary message area)
- Splash screen on Register startup
Operational Considerations¶
- Singleton Configuration: Branding settings follow a singleton pattern -there is only a single branding configuration per POS deployment
- Organization-Wide Impact: Changes to branding settings affect all Registers and RMS interfaces across the entire deployment
- Default Fallback: If any field is left blank, the default Kensium Point-of-Sale branding is used as a fallback
- No Downtime Required: Branding changes can be applied immediately without restarting registers or the application
- URL Validation: Test that logo URLs are accessible from all systems (Registers, RMS, servers) that need to display the logos
- Print Testing: After configuring the Report Logo, print a test receipt to verify the logo appears correctly on physical output
Best Practices¶
- Maintain Brand Consistency: Use consistent logos and messaging across all branding fields and throughout your organization
- Use High-Quality Images: Select clear, high-resolution logo images to ensure professional appearance both on-screen and in print
- Test Logo Display: Verify logo display on multiple devices and screen sizes (Register terminals, desktop monitors, mobile devices)
- Plan URL Management: Store logo images in a stable, accessible location to avoid broken links if images are relocated
- Document Customization: Keep a record of branding settings used for future reference and consistency during updates
- Welcome Text Length: Keep custom welcome text concise for login screens; longer text works better on dedicated welcome screens
Example
| Field | Value |

| Report Logo URL | https://cdn.example.com/logos/acme-report.png |
