Pull Cash

Remove and secure cash from your drawer, typically after close or for cash handling operations.

The Pull Cash function allows you to:

This is distinct from mid-shift pulls and is typically used as the final step in cash handling procedures.

When to Use Pull Cash

After Closing:

  • All transactions are complete
  • Formal close procedure finished
  • Time to physically remove cash for deposit

Cash Deposit Preparation:

  • Prepare cash bundle for bank deposit
  • Count and verify amounts for transfer
  • Separate denominations for deposit

End-of-Shift Cash Handling:

  • Secure cash away from register
  • Prepare for manager/counting room

Step-by-Step Pull Cash Process

1. Complete Closing Procedure

  • Run Close Drawer (F4) first
  • Allow closing reports to print
  • Verify all transactions are locked
  • Reconciliation complete

2. Secure Location

  • Move to secure area (back office, manager office, counting room)
  • Minimize exposure of cash
  • Work away from customer areas

3. Remove Cash from Drawer

  • Open the drawer (using physical key or button if still accessible)
  • Remove all bills by denomination
  • Remove all coins
  • Verify drawer is empty

4. Count and Organize Cash

  • Count all bills:
  • Separate by denomination
  • Stack neatly
  • Record count
  • Count all coins:
  • Separate by denomination
  • Use coin counter if available
  • Record count

5. Verify Against Closing Count

  • Compare your count to closing report
  • Should match (or be within rounding)
  • Note any discrepancies

6. Prepare for Deposit/Storage
