Installation

The Installation section describes how to install Kensium Point-of-Sale, and is primarily intended for Kensium Implementations and Support personnel.

The section also contains a technical overview that may also be useful for client IT departments.

Warning

This section contains information that is intended for an internal audience, or select clients when required. The information in this section should not be distributed via the public internet.

Register

As a browser-based application, the Kensium POS Register component requires no traditional software install as with previous versions of POS.

To enable printing, however, the EShipJet Printing service must be installed on the local workstation where the Register is running.

Note

Printing is currently limited to Registers running on the Windows operating system, as the EShipJet Printing service can be run on Windows only.

Server

The preferred method for deploying Kensium POS server components are through Docker containers. This deployment method is described in the Server - Docker section.

For client environments that cannot support Docker containers, we provide a legacy approach to deploying the software. This approach is described in the Server - Legacy section.

The ASI and Comms components of POS remain unchanged from previous versions; these must be deployed manually. These deployments are described here:
