Deployment Packages

POS build artefacts are automatically created by the Jenkins build system for each POS version, and pushed to two locations:

  • An Amazon S3 bucket containing the following (organized by POS version):
  • Scripts to install Docker and manage Docker containers
  • Comms Server and Client programs and libraries
  • ASI (ERP integration) programs and libraries
  • RMS Server program and libraries (for legacy installation)
  • A Docker container repository, containing:
  • Docker containers for POS components.

Amazon S3 Bucket

Each version of POS - including point releases - has its own folder within the Amazon S3 bucket, so that Kensium personnel have access to a full version history.

Full history is required, as clients may be running different versions of the software and might not be upgraded to the latest version at the same time.

Using version 7.0.0 as an example, each version folder has the following structure:

Of note:

  • The asi folder is manually managed, and will reflect different ERPs and ERP versions. We might automate these builds in the future.
  • The comms-client and comms-server folders are automatic deployments by Jenkins (Jenkins copies the pre-built executables located in the Git source repository).
  • The docker folder contains deployment scripts helpful for installing Docker and loading Docker containers.
  • The mssql folder contains scripts related to SQL Server maintenance, including the Upgrade Analysis Script.
  • The rms folder contains the RMS Server program and libraries, for legacy installations.

Docker Repository

The Docker containers are maintained at the TODO container repository.

Access to the repository is managed through scripts maintained in the /{version}/docker S3 folder.

Credentials

Kensium Implementations and Support personnel will need to use credentials to access the Docker repository and Amazon S3 buckets.

These credentials are managed by Kensium DevOps.
